Our Team

Our team consists of machinists, laminators, CAD modellers, engineers and experts in all things composites, carbon fibre and fibreglass, headed by Glen Oldfield.

Glen Oldfield, Director

Glen has been involved with advanced technology and all its possible solutions since his early days building small composite aircraft in the ’90s and working on his international moth, an experimental yacht class. He was building hydrofoils to ‘fly’ out of the water in the early 2000s; 20 years before the ‘foiling revolution’, now seen everywhere.

Meticulous and committed to superior quality he continues to thrive on technically challenging problems, from architecture and artwork to deep-sea robotic vehicles and advanced aircraft platforms.

Founding Composite Components in 2001, after a 2-year stint building carbon fibre components for McLaren and Jordan Formula 1 in the UK, Glen has grown the business to become a national leader in advanced composite fabrication in Australia. He leads a talented team of technicians and engineers committed to breaking new ground, uncovering and testing new techniques and technologies.

Glen is a problem solver that has delivered premium advanced composite constructions to customers across the mining, aerospace, maritime, architectural, and medical industries for almost 30 years.

Craig Wale, Lead Mechanical Engineer

Craig is an accomplished Mechanical Engineer with deep expertise in manufacturing and product development across renewable energy, agriculture, mining, subsea and aerospace industries. He leverages a decade of computational design and simulation experience to deliver modern, efficient, and value-driven designs for clients.

He is passionately committed to sustainable design, continuously integrating eco-friendly practices in his work. His interests in mechatronics and ‘the maker movement’ underscore his hands-on approach and dedication to evolving manufacturing processes. Craig's blend of technical skill and creative vision equips him to lead projects that harmonize form and function, and lead teams towards innovative solutions that redefine engineering norms.
